Layout, and Cover Design
A young girl is surrounded by watercolours that depicts her innocence. The multi-colour palette and various font types speak to the grappling of her personal identity and struggle to exist under the arbitrary norms of maturity, and social decorum. She looks through the hands of a clock, representing her journey to maturity, while the audience looks back at the clock to a time of youth and adolescence. Wonderland is “hidden” amid the forests. Watercolours are present throughout to give the piece a playful innocence. While the whisps and edges are light and show movement, the colours chosen are sometimes dark and foreboding, depicting the danger or struggle that Alice could face ahead. The variation of the colour shows the wide range of themes and emotions portrayed in the story.
